Politics is by hereditary corrupt. I dare you to find a political community, no matter the ideology, not affected by deep corruption. It’s actually quite absurd how people tend to accept behavior like this, like it’s normal. It feels like the medieval relationship between peasants and royalty. They look up to those with power, with a mix of respect, fear and naive trust.

I’ve had friends becoming interested in politics, and later involved as politicians, and almost instantly drawn into the very specific political language that depends more on shallownwords than an actual deeper meaning and interest in constructive change. And they can’t see it themselves. It’s quite bizarre, but so sad that I’ve in all cases left those friendships to their destiny. Imagine addiction to a drug, an addiction that can’t be stopped if the addicted don’t want it to stop.

Left, right, liberal, conservative etc — it’s just different words for ideologies that’s basically the same, just seen from different viewpoints. Good is evil for one side, and the opposite. I feel that politics should be more than just desperately clutching to a specific direction, which is all about simplifying existence.

Sinister people exists. in all ideologies, tons of them actually. To automatically trust a politician, or a so-called “leader” is sadness and desperation manifested. Yeah, maybe a touch of destructiveness. Like they all want to ruin each other’s lives.

I only agree with and follow my own superior values nowadays, which of course meaning lean in certain structural directions, and those can change day by day — but I refuse to label them. No way I’m falling into that trap.

Aren’t we all better than that? I’m sure of that, the question is if people are brave enough to let go of those frail notions of societal truth?
