“Satanism condones any type of sexual activity which properly satisfies your individual desires- be it heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or even asexual, if you choose. Satanism also sanctions any fetish or deviation which will enhance your sex-life, so long as it involves no one who does not wish to be involved.” — Anton LaVey, The Satanic Bible.

I’ve been out of the closet for a huge chunk of my life, and coming out from that darkness is one of the most important things I’ve ever done. Satanism is truly the best way to embrace oneself and be the one you are, I have no doubt about it — and to read and learn that LaVey conducted one for the first (if not THE first) gay wedding ceremony in the sixties always makes me warm and cozy (I think parts of this is visible in one of Kenneth Anger’s short films from the same time, if you’re curious)!

Being who you are is part of being a Satanist/individualist, and that means to be able to love the one (or ones — or none) you love, as consenting adults. I’ve had my share of personal issues in my life, but I have never ever felt any kind of fear of being gay. Why would I, as it’s such an important part of me. It’s without a doubt part of my identity.

To stay in the closet, to stay hidden, is a betrayal of yourself. You’re not meant to be hidden away (if that’s not that you love and feel super duper great doing), as no one else have the right to even speak against you way of living. They can fuck off, and we all know that. Be a conservative christian, that’s fine to me, as long as you don’t try to interfere with lives of others. That makes you a primitive, unintelligent human being.

We Satanists should be proud of who we are, whatever that might be!
